climb on

I thought I would toss up some pictures real quickly of Ephraim at the climbing gym. He loves it so much.
We are starting to feel the whirlwind of the holidays here already. How can it almost be December already?
The kitchen is really getting close now, or at least we feel like it is. We really want to have it ready for Christmas, but as usual who knows. I promise to take some pictures and put those up soon.
What is everyone doing for Christmas? We are blessed to stay home and have most of our family come visit, so that will be great. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lloydphotos/sets/72157603337939324/

goodbye froggy

On Sunday Froggy died. Okay, so actually he died on Saturday but we didn't tell Ephraim until Sunday. So the big question was what to do with a dead frog. Ryan suggested flushing him and E was not pleased with that idea. We called his more mature cousin ("she is 4 and half, mama") to see what she did with her dead fish. She told him to bury it. He didn't like that idea either. So when we asked what he thought he should do he said put in the sea. Well, a two hour drive to the coast seemed a bit too much for a frog the size of a nickel. So we compromised and took Froggy down to the Willamette river downtown and said our goodbyes. Yes, I know this seems a bit silly but it was important to him that the Froggy go somewhere he might be happy. Then we had the most restful morning walking up and down the boardwalk. Portland is basically a ghost town on Sunday morning. It seems everyone without kids must sleep in until eleven.

Ryan's mom had left the day before and we had such a good time with her that Ephraim was a little sad. And then we had to tell him about Froggy, so a nice family morning without kitchen work was really nice. He got over it pretty quickly and things are back to normal now. Death is a really strange thing for a four year old to comprehend, but I think now he gets it. Sort of.
So here is a link to our new pics, there are some pretty good ones of our tram ride at OHSU with Lynda and Portland's waterfront:

dynamic duo

Well Wonder woman and Spiderman had a pretty successful night last night. Salome chewed through the wrapper of a twix bar and Ephraim got more candy than he has had in his whole life. We really had a lot of fun earlier in the day when they got more creative with their outfits. I grabbed the camera and took some fun pictures. Enjoy! Hopefully I am not the only one who likes to look at these.
