Valerie made me buy a bike for my birthday...which was very nice of her. I've been wanting one for 2 years now. So here it is, my first road bike. It's a fixie which means no freewheel, no coasting, if you peddle backwards the wheel goes backwards...if you try to stop pedaling while going forwards it makes bad things happen. It's the most fun I've had on a bike in a while. I feel like a cyborg when i'm clipped in with my cleats. The bike and I act as one cohesive unit, ready to take on the rainiest of roads, biggest of suv's, and whatever else portland can throw at me. I'm excited about it, it truly is a lot of fun to ride, it's made my commute the last days something to look forward to. And for all you playa hater's out there, it does have a brake (for now).
