Poor mama woodpecker

So last weekend while knocking out the sunroom walls, we had noticed a woodpecker had made a nest in the outside part of the wall. She had drilled several holes into the wall and then we could see a few sticks sticking out of one of the larger holes indicating where she chose to put the nest. So hoping to preserve and move it to a very nearby tree, (for the kids sake at least), Ryan marked the wall with a big X to hopefully carefully preserve it. Unfortunately for some strange reason mama woodpecker laid her eggs in a separate hole nestled into some insulation, completely missing her nest. Anyways, Ryan found two eggs fallen on the ground already cracked. So he went ahead and moved the nest to the tree and when we returned from lunch the mama bird had squeezed into the hole and gotten stuck in the sunroom. So sad, she was looking for her eggs, I think. Ryan tried to let out but she freaked out and flew into a glass door knocking her to the ground. So he took outside in his jacket and she stayed put for a while. Later he went out to check on her and she flew off, so apparently she wasn't injured but in shock. Poor mama woodpecker.
So not without drama, the sunroom is gone, and we the start of some new walls being frame inside... check it out.

The first picture is of the sunroom, which we have decided to make a patio. Half of the roof over it will be opened up to let sunlight in through rafters, while the other half will remain as a rain cover. The other two pictures are of the kids rooms, divided by a closet wall with secret door in between and the other is of the water heater closet/laundry room. The framer is starting upstairs this week, which is way more exciting. He took out the lower half of the stairs because they were in the way, and need moved. The tricky part is now you have to climb a ladder to get up there now, the kids love that, their mama not so much.
